Indigenous Relations Manager
Dan has 40 years of experience in the forestry, oil and gas, and natural resource sectors with expertise in planning, research, operations, reclamation, and Indigenous relations over tens of thousands of hectares throughout British Columbia.
Dan has a degree from the University of Victoria in Natural Resource Management and is a member of the Association of BC Forest Professionals as a Registered Forest Technologist. Dan has extensive experience working in almost all forestry areas and varying capacities with numerous Government, Industry, and First Nation companies in BC. In addition to Dan’s professional and technical forestry background, his experience with Indigenous communities is vast. He spent his early forestry years being mentored by Elders in business from Fort Ware. The teachings from the Elders in those earlier years led Dan to work with many Indigenous communities throughout BC, Yukon, NWT, and Alberta. As a result, he has many years of experience in many Indigenous communities’ social, economic, and cultural aspects throughout BC. His expertise includes, but is not limited to, Indigenous relations, consultation and engagement, teaching, training, and capacity building, cultural programs, economic development, and government/stakeholder liaison.
Dan is currently the Operations and Indigenous Relations Manager of Geoterra that has recently consolidated with CCI. He supports and transitions senior company managers and promotes and executes Indigenous relations and partnerships throughout Western Canada.
